EXCLUSIVE: Manoj Bajpayee Confesses To Still Asking Filmmakers For Roles; Recalls Begging To Get A Film Screened Saying, “Distributor, Exhibitor Ke Office Mein Gidgidaya”

Manoj Bajpayee is gearing up for the release of Jugnumaa-The Fable, presented by Anurag Kashyap. While promoting the film, the actor sat for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble. Manoj Bajpayee Reveals His Filmmaker’s Wishlist

When speaking about how 15 filmmakers want him to work in their projects, Manoj Bajpayee revealed his wishlist. He said, “Anurag Kashyap jab on-board aaye, Anurag ki ek bahut badi credibility hai filmmakers ke beech. So Anurag ne do screenings organise ki thi – ek South Indian filmmakers ke liye, jo ki bahut hi fantastic the, aur jin sabke saath main kaam karna chahta hoon. Lijo ek aise filmmaker hain jinke saath main kaafi time se struggle kar raha hoon kaam karne ke liye. Vetri ke edit room mein bhi main gaya tha role maangne ke liye. Aur jab main The Family Man Season 2 shoot kar raha tha, us time pe ye sab mere wish list pe the.”

Manoj Bajpayee Reveals Acting Isn’t His Only Work In The Project

Manoj revealed that his work goes beyond just acting in the film or a series. The Gangs Of Wasseypur actor recalled, “I used to give all those great shots. The shots which were celebrated, talked about, and analysed. But nobody knows that after the shot, I used to get into my van and call possible financers. ‘Ki paise dedo, film karna hai. 10 din ke baad shooting karne ke paise nahi hai.’ Jab aap aisi films karte ho, toh meri responsibilities hoti hain; funding, buying. Distributor ke office se lekar exhibitor ke office tak gidgidake, I said, ‘Mujhe ek show dedo, badhiya show dedo‘. Yahaan tak maine kiya hai. I don’t only stay in these films just as an actor; the work goes beyond that.”

Manoj Bajpayee will be next seen in Jugnuma, releasing on 12th September. It was screened at MAMI last year.
