In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Mozez Singh shares an anecdote about Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, winning an IFFA award. He says, “Thank you first of all, thank you so much. It’s really amazing to have won it, we’re very happy.”

When asked if he expected his docu-film to win an award, he says, “No.. No, it’s just really very overwhelming. You know obviously everybody wants to make the next big thing and make a film or documentary or anything else, and we won the best for it and you dream of doing very well but then, and when it actually reached out we won an award and everything has just been… it’s been a tremendous win and I’m just very happy that the film reached out and it touched people.”

Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Reaction

When asked how did Yo Yo Honey Singh reacted, Mozez says, “He was obviously very thrilled and was very happy, you know he had really put himself out there doing this film and really kind of exposed so many sides to him and the fact that all the people that did reach out made him really really happy, I’m very happy for him because, the film is about him and it would not have been the same like, truthful, honest and surreal if it wasn’t for him. So I am very happy that he took himself out there and worked for it.”

On The Work Front

Mozez Singh, an acclaimed Indian filmmaker, recently achieved significant recognition for directing the Netflix documentary Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, which won Best Documentary at the IIFA Awards 2025. This success has deepened his interest in documentaries; however, Singh is now eager to return to fiction projects. He has several fictional narratives in development and is assessing which to pursue next. Singh’s diverse portfolio also includes the Disney+ Hotstar series Human and his debut directorial feature Zubaan, which opened the Busan Film Festival.
