EXCLUSIVE: Mukesh Chhabra Recalls Aamir Khan’s Tremendous Involvement In Dangal’s Casting; Reveals, “8–10 Din Roz Aaye The”

Mukesh Chhabra and Aamir Khan have worked in Dangal and Laal Singh Chaddha. The film introduced debutants Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mukesh Chhabra revealed Aamir Khan never got tired during the Dangal shooting schedule or casting process. He also shared excitement for his upcoming films.

Mukesh Chhabra On Casting Challenges

When asked which was the most challenging part of casting, Chhabra said, “Hum actually jaise bola na, hum bhi toh mentally thak jaate hain na. Team bhi thak jaati hai, dhoondhte-dhoondhte-dhoondhte. Toh jab aap casting mein thak gaye na, tab aapki casting boring ho jaayegi. Agar main Dangal mein thak jaata, Aamir sir bhi nahi thakte, Nitesh Tiwari bhi nahi thakte.”

Mukesh Chhabra On Working With Aamir Khan In Dangal

Speaking of, if Aamir Khan came to his office every day during Dangal, Mukesh Chhabra said, “Nahi, jab finally shortlist hua, toh 8–10 din toh roz aaye the shortlist karne ke liye. Kabhi unke ghar pe, kabhi yahan, woh aate the. Kyunki agar aapko nahi lagta ki Aamir Khan hi nahi thak rahe, toh hum kaun hain thakne waale? Jab aap casting mein thak gaye, toh matlab game over. The reason I’m not tired of casting, I still love casting. I think I’m not tired yet, okay? I still want to do more, still make sure that I find more people.”

The casting director revealed all his upcoming projects. He said, “Abhi Dhurandhar bhi aayegi, phir King bhi aayegi, Ramayan bhi aayegi, Son Of Sardar 2 bhi aayegi, Family Man 3 bhi aayega, Furdi 2 bhi aayega, DelhiGram 2 bhi aayega, phir Maalik abhi aane waali hai, phir Tanvi aane waali hai, phir Dhadak 2 aane waali hai, abhi tumne kaha, abhi toh aur aani hai yaar! Abhi toh bahut saara aane waala hai. Aur main, toh kabhi thaka hi nahi. Main toh abhi bhi excited hoon, Black One 2 shuru ho gaya, Hansal Mehta ka naya show shuru ho gaya, Anubhav Sinha ki next film shuru ho gayi, Vishal bhai ki bhi us taraf aane waali hai. Toh mujhe toh hamesha bahut excitement rehti hai.”(sic)

Mukesh’s Projects

Mukesh Chhabra was last seen as a contestant in Karan Johar’s The Traitors. The casting director admitted to having a lot of fun on this show. He has a couple of interesting projects lined up, Ramayana, King, Dhurandhar and others. Mukesh’s recent projects were Maalik, Son Of Sardar 2, Dhadak 2 and Tanvi: The Great.
