Nakuul Mehta On Saying NO To Projects

When asked what is the best way to say no to any project Nakuul Mehta responded, “I think I’m very good at saying no, and money has never driven me in life even when I had very little of it, because I know I had the privilege of family giving me roof, shelter, pretty good food, so with that privilege I realized ki agar privilege hai zindagi mein toh uska sahi dhang se istamaal kiya jaaye and not everyone may have this privilege, so for me money has always been a by-product. I completely agree with what Tam (Tamannaah Bhatia) said about why it’s always been like my why is always there — why am I doing a project. I always have this personal barometer of three things. Teen mein se agar do cheezen mujhe mil rahi hai then I say yes.

He added, “And maybe I’ll just explain — beauty: mujhe maza aaraha hai usme, then it doesn’t matter what it will do for me. Value: it gives me economic value, joy or some other benefits; good: will this piece of work reach out and create change, will it help people at a larger scale beyond just my life, and for me the barometer is simple — agar isme do mein se teen cheezen hai, it’s a yes, agar teeno hai toh amazing, if two out of three then it’s still something I say yes to, very few things actually come to just one out of three for me, so I’m very happily able to say no to the rest, it’s a pretty simple formula.”
