Anupam Kher On Old-Age Love In Today’s Cinema
When asked about portraying old age love in the modern era of cinema, Anupam Kher said, “I think cinema mein jo ek interesting sa change aaya hai abh kisi cheez ki acting nahi karni padhti hai. Speaking of age-appropriate, jab main aur Neena ek film mein kaam kar rahe hai toh the sensibility of actors also makes a difference, the sensibility of directors. And yes, a lot depends on how Anurag Basu ne ise kaise interpret kiya hai. Without naming anybody, pehele budhape ke romance ki kahaaniyan hoti thi, it would be comedy or something. Ek acting hoti thi ki hum pyaar mein hai, but aisa believable ho sakta hai kya ki ek 60-65 year old man can fall in love with a similar age or younger person.”
Neena Gupta On Vulgarity On-Screen
Neena Gupta said, “Ek word hai Hindi mein Phoogadpana, means vulgarity, woh nahi aana chahiye. It depends on both the director and actor, ek umra ke baad koi couple ko physically close nahi dikha sakte ho. That will look poor. Toh woh sensibility aajaye toh kya stories ban sakti hain.”
The actress also mentioned, “I want to tell this important thing, don’t ever assume that someone 60 or 70 years old doesn’t want to have romance in their life. Aisa sochna nahi chahiye, khaskar ladies in India aise sochti hai ki bas hogaya. Abh main dekhti hoon middle-aged women, they go to the gym, they want to remain fit. Icha toh honi chhaiye naa. Who doesn’t dream? Which woman or man doesn’t?”
Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta will be seen in Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino.
