Parul Gulati: I Was Often Shortlisted, But Then Dropped From Projects
During the exclusive chat, we quizzed Parul Gulari about instances wherein she was shortlisted for projects in Bollywood but was let go later in favours of other actresses. Affirming she’s expereinced such situations, Parul replied, “I was often shortlisted, but then dropped because I wasn’t “successful enough” in any area, neither was I famous. It just felt like nobody thought I was good enough to be casted in a Bollywood film, even after 15 years in the industry.”
When asked why she choose a project like Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 to be her theatrical Bollywood debut film, Parul Gulati replied, “It just felt right. Whether it works for me or not, people will definitely go to the theatre to watch this movie. I wanted my first big screen film to be seen by everyone… So yes, it was a calculated decision.”
On being asked which would be another film genre she would have preferred to make her Bollywood debut in, the actress answered, “A suspense drama or thriller I love messy characters and twisted tails….I’m drawn to characters that aren’t perfect but feel real.”
