Sindhu Vee Divorces In Indian Society

British stand-up comedian and actress Sindhu Venkatanarayanan – better known as Sindhu Vee, is known for entertaining her fans in projects such as Matilda the Musical, The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, Sex Education and more. The actress’ most recent outing was in the Amazon Prime Video film Picture This starring Simone Ashley in the lead.

During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble while promoting the film, Sindhu Vee – who essayed a pivotal role in the recently-released British rom-com film Picture This, opened up about romance between couples with an age gap and how divorcee are viewed in the Indian culture. Talking about the age gap we see between her character and Akshay Dham, Sindhu Vee said, “In terms of the age gap, I think what’s more important is that he understands her, he cares about her, he’s truly devoted to her. Also, she’s been in this.. sort of a desert, of having any female agency or agency as a woman after her divorce… That’s something else in India especially – when you get divorced, you’re dead to the world, you’re erased. She needs to figure that out. I don’t know if she’s gonna last with this guy, or just have a couple of fun romps with him. It doesn’t matter, she’s bringing herself back into the picture.”

She concluded by saying, “I mean if you, if you’re going to be 15 years younger, and it’s all legal – go for it.”
