Abhishek Agarwal On The Bengal Files’ Trailer Launch Being Cancelled In Kolkata

During the exclusive chat, when asked his reaction to The Bengal Files trailer launch not happening as planned in Kolkata, the producer said, “We did not cancel the launch, the government did. We were supposed to do it in a 5 star hotel but when we land there we get to know that the trailer launch is cancelled. We had booked a 5 star hotel and spent all night getting a proper set up done with LED lights and everything because we particularly wanted to do it on that day because it was Direct Action day which is what the movie is based on”

He continued, “We had permissions from the hotel as well but the next morning police was already on rounds near the area but we were minding our own business. Suddenly when the trailer launch began, we were stopped in between and told that we cant do it. A lot of chaos was created but we managed to convey what we wanted to, to the audience because the cast and crew were already present over there.”

He added, “Since we wanted to do it on Direct Action Day, it seems they took a direct action on us.”
