EXCLUSIVE: Rahul Dev Recalls Shooting 13 Films When Late Wife Rina Dev Was Battling Cancer; Admits, “You Will Not Meet Somebody Like Her”

Rahul Dev was married to Rina Dev until 2009 when she passed away after battling cancer. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor recalls shooting for 13 films during this period. Rahul Dev Recalls Shooting 13 Films When Late Wife Rina Dev Was Battling Cancer

Speaking about his wife’s Rina Dev’s death, Rahul said, “Jab main industry mein 13 films kar raha tha uss waqt, unka cancer tha. Bilkul waqt bita hi nahi paaya. Aur jab aap apne partner ke saath waqt nahi bita paate na, toh time aapke liye rukne wala nahin hai, woh toh chala jaayega upar. Woh chale gaya… magar mujhe toh woh 13 films complete karni thi.”

He further added, “Mujhe yaad hai, chauthi ke baad main gaya tha Blue ki shooting pe. Bohot tough tha, Phuket mein shoot tha. Phuket hi gaye the hum log. Wahan se phir Mauritius gaye. Toh kathinaaiyaan thi. Aur tab yeh mile bhi nahi the. Tab bohot uthal-puthal hoti thi… 24 ghante uthal-puthal. Aisa lagta tha, yaar koi aur insaan aapko kuch de dega.“

“But abhi mujhe lagta hai ki koi insaan aapko kuch de hi nahi sakta. Haan, of course agar aisa kuch mil jaaye ji, then that is a rare, rare blessing. Aur yeh bhi hota hai kai baar ki lifestyle nikal jaata hai, phir agle janm mein aap aate ho. Aur whatever — I mean, whatever your beliefs are, I don’t know what they are. Matlab whether ek aur janm hota hai ya nahin hota, and all that — I don’t know.
But bohot baar aisa hota hai ki you will not meet somebody like him or her.”

Rahul Dev’s son is Siddharth Dev. He raised Siddharth as a single father after his wife, Rina, passed away from cancer in 2009
