Rahul Dev lost his brother Mukul Dev earlier this year, and the actor has been mourning his passing away. In an exclusive interview in Bollywood Bubble, the actor opened up about his brother’s funeral in Delhi and the insensitive coverage of the paps. Rahul recalled how he requested the media with folded hands not to cover any videos of the funeral and the cremation, yet the paps did not listen. Rahul Dev Reveals Paps Disobeyed His Request Not To Cover Late Brother Mukul Dev’s Funeral

When asked about his brother Mukul Dev’s passing and the insensitivity shown by the paps during his funeral, Rahul Dev expressed, “Dekho yaar, main na kisi ko blame isliye nahin karunga simply because agar main analyse karta hoon na, toh main yeh dekhta hoon ki woh kar kya rahe the. Bechare channel ke toh owner nahin hote, jis bhi ke representative hote hain. Mujhe toh pata bhi nahin tha kaun-kaun tha. Maine ek-do baar request bhi ki thi, haath jod ke, ki yaar, yeh inki kriya chal rahi hai, please yahan mat aaiye. Door se thumbs-up kar rahe the. Nahin sir, nahin aana hai. Aur phir woh videos maine uske baad bhi dekhe ki aa rahe the.“

The actor further said, “Toh maine apni taraf se yeh kiya ki, dekho yaar, mere haath mein toh kuch hai nahin jo ki life mein bhi hota hai. Maine jo unki antim kriya thi, woh back se hi kiya unke prati. Pandit jo bhi bol rahe the karne ke liye, usmein mera back hi aapne zyada dekha hoga. Agar kahin meri shakl-vakl dekhi hogi toh bas woh ki jo jo aaya tha waha pe.”

Rahul On Putting IG Story About Mukul Dev’s Death

Speaking about how he put an instagram story for his brother Mukul Dev’s last rites, Rahul Dev said, “Aur mujhe lagta hai sab itna sudden hua. Afternoon mein hi body leke jaana tha cremation pe. Bahut log sochte hain ki hume inform kyun nahin kiya. But I was a one-man show wahan pe, ji. Aur yeh Mumbai mein nahin, Delhi mein ho raha tha. Toh kisi ne mujhe suggest kiya ki ek Instagram story daal do. Maine kar diya.”

He further added, “Wahan pata laga ki the world, mothers, fathers, jo mujhe nahin bhi jaante — unhe bhi maloom chal gaya. Warna relatives bhi hota hai na, jo bina wajah mann jaate hain ki hume bataya kyun nahin. Chahe mile na ho usko 10–10 saal se. Toh maine socha, chhodo yaar. Maine woh kar diya aur accha ho gaya. Sab accha ho gaya. Aaj janmdin hai, it’s a nice day. Everything is good with His grace and my Master’s grace. Bas wahi.”

Rahul Dev’s brother Mukul Dev passed away on 23rd May 2025.
