Actor Sagar Parekh has won several hearts with his performance as Samar Shah in Anupamaa and then the Colors TV show, Mera Balam Thanedar. The actor – who has steadily established himself in the entertainment industry with efforts to select diverse and important roles, recently discussed his thoughts on Ranveer Singh’s latest hit Dhurandhar. While exclusively talking to Bollywood Bubble about the Aditya Dhar film, Parekh praised the spy action thriller, revealed why it clicked with the audience and which character(s) he would like to play if given the chance. Read on to know all he had to share.
Sagar Parekh Praises Dhurandhar
Talking about his reaction after watching the film, Sagar Parekh revealed that the experience felt refreshing. The actor exclusively told us, “Honestly, I walked out feeling very entertained and that’s something we’ve all been missing lately. Dhurandhar doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. I think it’s very confident, rooted, and just delivers. As an actor, I really enjoyed how engaging it was without over complicating things.”
The actor further got candid about why the film is being called a proper entertainer. He said, “I think the biggest win for Dhurandhar is that it understands the audience. I mean it has all the emotion, drama, moments of mass appeal and at the same time, it still feels very fresh. I think it’s just not about spectacle, the film has a heart. Plus, the storytelling is crisp and the characters feel really relatable and are adapted from real characters. Also, the casting is very on point. That makes it very rare these days.”
Sagar: It’s Not Just About Screen Time…
When asked about the role he would have loved to play in the film, Sagar Parekh didn’t hesitate to pick two powerful characters – Akshaye Khanna’s Rahman Dakait and Ranveer Singh’s Hamza. Sharing his thoughts, Sagar said, “I think it would either be Rahman Dakait or Hamza that was played by Ranveer Singh because I think both the characters were immensely strong. Especially Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza had layers, strength, vulnerability and a strong emotional craft. As an actor, I think those are the roles that challenge you and stay with the audience. It’s not just about screen time, but I think it’s about impact. I think that role definitely has it.”
Sagar Parekh once again demonstrates his passion for meaningful storytelling and his grasp of cinema with such candid insights.
