Samarth Jurel, Eisha Singh On Continuous Long Working Hours
When asked about the long working hours of shooting, how it drains actors and if there should be some relief, Eisha Singh answered, “Yaar, it depends on a lot of factors. Kabhi-kabhi production ka bhi khayal karna padta hai. But haan, definitely it takes a toll on…”
Samarth Jurel interrupted the conversation. He said, “Actually, main yahi reason tha ki main daily soaps abhi nahi kar raha hoon. Jo ek hote hain na TV shows, because wo bohot exhausting ho jaate hain. Aur doosra, mujhe kaam se pyaar hai. Mere liye kaam “kaam” nahi hai. Ab aap kisi se bhi pyaar thodi kar lete ho, hai na? Toh wo mujhe hate ho jaayegi ki, ‘Yaar, arre yaar, ab kal phir jaana hai.’ Aisa hona chahiye ki ghar pe aake jab bed pe lete ho, toh lage, ‘Yaar aaj maza aaya.'”
He added, “Toh mujhe lagta hai TV mein aisa hota hai ki bhai wo chalta hi jaa raha hai, chalta hi jaa raha hai. Baaki doosra, kuch show kar jaise humne hi kiya. Yeh kabhi headache nahi laga ki, ‘Arre yaar, kal phir shoot hai, itne scenes complete karne hain.’ Relax hoke karte the, maza aata tha.”
Working Hours In The TV/Film Industry
Long working hours are a persistent issue in the film and TV industry. Often working hours average over 11 hours a day, sometimes exceeding 60 hours a week. These long hours contribute to fatigue, high turnover, and potential safety risks.
