EXCLUSIVE: Shashank Khaitan Compares Varun Dhawan’s Chemistry With Alia Bhatt And Janhvi Kapoor; Says, “Both Are Special…”

Director Shashank Khaitan, known for delivering hits like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Dhadak, is all set to return with his next film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The film features Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. With Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt being one of the most iconic on-screen pairs in recent years, the question that we now have is, will there be comparisons between the old pairing and the new.

When asked if he’s worried about comparisons between Varun and Alia’s popular on-screen pairing and the new one with Janhvi. Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Shashank replied, “I don’t know if there will be comparisons or not, but I’m okay with both. I mean, as far as they talk about the film, they can give the film an individual chance. I mean, two actors are two different people, and no actor can have the same chemistry with two different actresses. He’ll have different chemistries with them. And for me, as a pair, both are special. Alia was part of my debut film, and so was Varun. I launched Janhvi. For me, all these people are very special in my life.”

He also shared how much he values working with each of them, “I have done two films with Alia, and I have done two films with Janhvi. This is my third film with Varun, so I mean, I have great camaraderie with all of them, so I can only hope that they all do their individual best, and if there are comparisons, great.”

On the work front, Shashank’s upcoming film as a director is Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Maniesh Paul, amongst a stellar cast. It is produced by Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment and is set for a worldwide theatrical release on Dussehra, October 2, 2025. He is also creating a Netflix series, Single Papa, starring Kunal Kemmu and Neha Dhupia.

He has also teamed up with Luv Ranjan as a producer for Anuj Saini’s Friendship Comedy Film With Luv Ranjan, Starring Kunal Vaid and 5 others. The film will be produced by Luv Ranjan and Mentor Disciple Films.
