Tanishk Bagchi On Working With Shah Rukh Khan

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Tanishk Bagchi reveals wanting to work with Shah Rukh Khan, “I have to do something for Shah Rukh sir. I’ve already worked with him, and I mean, he’s really close to me because he supports me a lot when it comes to my music. But honestly, I haven’t done that one iconic song with him yet—and I’m still waiting for that moment to manifest. I really wanted to do Jawan, but it ended up happening with Anirudh. You know, I always search for music that has that thing, something that just takes off and goes somewhere. I even told him when we met during a session—we were just chilling and I said, ‘Paaji, you know what? I want to make a song that’s got this, and this, and this…’ and he just told me, ‘Tu chai pee aur gaana banwa’ (You sit and sip your tea and just make the song).”

Tanishk’s Bond With Akshay Kumar

When asked about his relation with Akshay Kumar, he says, “How could I ever forget him, man? He’s literally always on my mind. I’ve done so many films with him. What I really love is that he doesn’t stick to a single genre—he’s the kind of artist who can fit into any kind of song. His versatility is next-level. I’ve seen it myself—in Kesari, in Bell Bottom, I’ve worked with him. Whatever character he’s playing, he fully owns it. And whenever there’s a song with him, it just fits perfectly. Especially when the theme is patriotic or nationalistic—it just feels like the song was made for him.”

Tanishk Bagchi Recalls Working With Akshay Kumar In Sooryavanshi

He continued, “Even in Sooryavanshi, we created such a great vibe together. I even recreated Tip Tip with him. And honestly, he still looks young. He’s evergreen! And don’t even get me started on his punctuality—it’s unreal. One time he said, ‘I’m coming at 4 o’clock, be ready.’ I thought he meant 4 in the evening, so I said, ‘Yeah, yeah, sir, I’ll be ready.’ But bro… he meant 4 in the morning! He came to pick me up at 3 a.m. and by 4 a.m., we were already jamming. He’s playing songs from random playlists. My eyes were all red, and this guy’s full of energy—dancing around like nothing’s wr.ong. After that, when we went to drop him back, he said, Let’s go from the back way to the house.’ And I was like, ‘But sir, there’s a wall there.’ He goes, ‘That’s how I always go in the morning.’ And seriously—he climbed that wall and just jumped over and left!”

He concluded, “My driver and I were just standing there, wondering how to follow. I tried to climb, too—my clothes ripped. And he looked back at me and said, ‘You kids these days—don’t work out, don’t eat properly, can’t even lift yourselves. Nothing’s going to happen for you!’ And I was just thinking, ‘Sir, you’re the only one like this. We can’t do this!’ But yeah, his vibe is unmatched. The man is on fire. Just imagine—4 a.m., music blasting, and he’s out there jumping over walls!”
