Zeeshan Ayyub has worked with Salman Khan in Kabir Khan’s directed Tubelight. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor got candid about Salman filming a scene in one take, as told by his Bajrangi Bhaijaan co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Zeeshan also opened up on Kabir Khan and Salman’s bond and how it helped Bajrangi Bhaijaan become successful.
Zeeshan Ayyub On Salman Khan’s One-Take Filming
When asked if it is true that Salman Khan is an actor who takes one shot to film a sequence, his Tubelight co-star Zeeshan Aayub said, “Woh single take mein karte hain, bilkul sahi baat hai Nawaz bhai ki. I think jo unka work karta hai na Salman bhai ka, woh jo bhi bolta hai na woh aadmi wahan pe camera ke aage, woh jhooth nahi bolta. Ho sakta hai usmein baad mein kuch badlav kiya gaya ho, kya kiya gaya ho, process mujhe nahi maloom. Kyunki woh aate hain set pe aur uske baad seedha shoot hi karte hain, ki bhai chalo chalo, camera ready hai.”
Further adding, he said, “Jaise maan lijiye yahaan pe aapki jagah pe aana hai, toh I will be waiting. Woh aayenge, baithenge, and hum seedha dialogue lenge, shoot hoga, and we’ll leave ji. Aur unko agar lagta hai ki thoda sa kuch badal doon, thoda sa yeh kar doon, woh kar doon. Lines toh unko hamesha yaad thi. Tubelight pe khaas taur pe maine wahi kaam kiya hai. Toh unko pata hota tha, woh aate the, apna bolte the. Kabhi kabhi maine dekha, ek do baar Kabir aur woh kuch baat kar rahe hote the. Uske baad woh aate the, apni line badhiya apne tareeke se bolte the aur woh nikal jaate the.”
Zeeshan On Salman, Kabir Khan’s Bond
The actor recalled, “I think maybe na Tubelight mein kya hua, jo aap bol rahe hain “performance-wise,” that could be the reason. Assuming meri koi baat toh hui nahi, toh main aise andaza laga raha hoon, ki kyunki Bajrangi Bhaijaan ka magic hua tha. I think usne na ek bahut bhaari trust baithaya hoga right director aur actor ke beech mein. Maine Tubelight dekhi nahi hogi, meri film hai ji, par Bajrangi maine dekhi thi.”
Concluding, the Tubelight actor said, “Mujhe Bajrangi mein bahut acche lage the Salman bhi, aur Nawaz bhai toh the hi. Kya film banayi hai, kya khoobsurat film hai, matlab bahut badiya. Toh, I think woh jo magic ho gaya tha na, ek innocent Salman Khan, bahut saalon baad jo ek action-action karne waala aadmi. Suddenly woh bada hi vulnerable, bahut pyaara, cute aadmi hai. I think woh ek confidence aaya ki yaar yeh logon ko aur zyada pahunch raha hai, zyada pasand aa raha hai. I think uss collaboration ko strong banane mein is cheez ka haath hoga. Hum isko aur zyada jo hai acche se karte hain. Doosra, ab acting ki baat karein toh pattern todna zaroori hota hai.”
