EXCLUSIVE: Vishal Jethwa Recalls Being Background Dancer For Salman Khan In Tiger Zinda Hai; Hints At His Next With Katrina Kaif

Vishal Jethwa is best known for his roles as Akbar from Maharana Pratap, Sunny from Mardaani 2, among others. The actor is also gearing up for his upcoming film Homebound, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Vishal Jethwa recalls his time shooting Tiger 3 with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. He also dropped a hint for his next, revealing he wants to do a film with Kat.

Vishal Jethwa Shares Memories With Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif From Tiger 3

When shown a picture of him with Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan from the sets of Tiger 3, Vishal Jethwa shared, “Main abhi bhi Katrina Kaif ko dekh ke blush karta hoon. Dekhiye, Katrina hai! Itni jalan hui thi mujhe jab ma’am ki shaadi ho gayi thi. Kya yeh kehna sahi hai? But yaar, mujhe Katrina Kaif bohot pasand hai. Unke dance, unka grace, unka style, woh itni positive hain, itni hard-working hain. Maine bohot logon se suna hai. Mujhe bohot pasand hai. Aur Salman sir, jinke peeche maine as a background dancer kaam kiya tha, unke saath main Tiger Zinda Hai mein aise kaam kar paaya jahan pe main unke saath khada tha aur unse baat kar paa raha tha.”

Vishal Jethwa On First Meeting With Salman Khan

Speaking of when he was a background dancer when he first met Salman Khan, Vishal said, “Main Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs mein tha jab Salman sir, Asin ma’am, aur Ajay Devgn sir aaye the apni film London Dreams ka promotion karne. Toh wahan pe humein peeche khade rehna tha, aur humein strictly mana kiya gaya tha ki koi bhi song khatam hone ke baad stage pe jaa ke Salman sir se haath nahi milayega. Aur main itna “by the books” banda hoon ki mann tha fir bhi nahi gaya. Kya pata tha ki ek din unke saath cameo hoga, chhota hi sahi, par role unke saath kiya. Aur maine sir ko yeh baat batayi bhi thi. Obviously unhe yaad nahi hoga, but maine unko yeh share kiya tha. Unki (Salman sir) aankhon mein aisa dikha ki woh… matlab it was like ‘good, good’”.

Vishal Reveals Not Speaking To Salman, Katrina

When asked about meeting and speaking to Katrina Kaif, the Mardaani 2 actor said, “Main jaise Yash Raj jaa raha tha, aur mujhe pata tha ki aaj Katrina ma’am wahan hogi. Toh maine peeche se dekha, woh apni lift ke liye wait kar rahi thi. Main bas peeche se unko dekhta reh gaya, aur main upar chala gaya. Koi zyada interaction nahi ho paayi. Mujhe bada dukh ho raha tha ki yaar, main itna confident bhi nahi hoon ki ma’am se baat kar sakoon. Fir Salman sir aur Katrina ma’am ko shoot karte hue dekh raha tha — ekdum king-queen jaise royal lag rahe the dono. Woh log baat kar rahe the, bas ek alag hi feeling thi unko dekhna.”

He continued, “Nahi, kabhi maine unse bahut achhe se baat nahi ki. Sirf matlab scene-related jo baat thi, bas wahi. Shayad unke saath main koi film karoon. You never know, no?”
