Actor Vyom set all hearts racing with his latest release Mannu Kya Karegga, with newcomer Sachi Bindra. Despite having a low-key start, the actor talked about his thoughts on whether Bollywood is truly welcoming to outsiders or if he feels that he is still treated as an outsider post his debut.
Vyom Feels Stars Are Made By People, Not Surnames
The film had a quiet start at the box office, but Vyom’s performance has been well-received by those who watched it. Speaking about whether he still feels like an outsider after his debut, Vyom shared with Bollywood Bubble, “I feel that in the last 10 years, the line between insider and outsider has become quite blurry. Earlier, it was largely about big families — the Kapoors, the Khans, who dominated direction, acting and the spotlight. But with the rise of OTT, the audience has opened its arms to fresh talent. If you perform well and deliver good content, people not only accept you, but they sometimes love you even more.”
He believes that it’s the audience that truly decides who succeeds. Vyom added, “For me, the audience is the ultimate truth. If the audience likes your work, buys tickets, streams your shows, then you’ve won. Stars are made by the people, not by surnames. A film hits 100 crores and suddenly someone is a star; that’s the power of the audience.”
Vyom admitted that being an insider helps with access but said hard work matters more in the long run. He added, “Whether you come from the inside or outside, at the end of the day, you need to perform, tell good stories, and prove yourself. That’s the only way to last.”
He ended on a positive note, saying, “Personally, I don’t let the tag of an outsider bother me. I’ve also experienced that many so-called insiders are extremely welcoming when they see good talent. Be it directors, writers, or actors, everyone ultimately wants to collaborate with people who bring something real and exciting to the table, regardless of background.”
With his grounded attitude and growing popularity, Vyom is clearly here to stay. On the work front, he will be next seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Karna.
