Adnan Sami's Overweight Problem
Adnan Sami was ruling the music industry with his back-to-back to music singles but his personal life had hit a turmoil. He faced a few personal issues and had hit the lowest phase of his life. He seeked divorce with his wife followed by a legal battle. This had led him to over eat due to depression. With the weight of 206 kilos, he was termed as obese. He couldn't sleep because lying down would make him go breathless. He could not walk even five steps and hence had to carry a walker with him. The problem was so gruesome that Adnan had to carry a special wheelchair for the flight, which could not provide extra large chairs. Later, he developed a problem called lymphedema in the knees. He had to undergo surgery which left him bed-ridden for approximately 3 months.
Adnan Sami Gets The Ultimatum From The Doctor
Even though Adnan suffered so many problems, he was still adamant to not bring about a change in his lifestyle. It was only after his doctor gave him an ultimatum that he would live only for 6 months that he thought of losing weight but even this was not enough. His father finally had to intervene and gave him an ultimatum that if he does not work hard to get his weight under control, he will walk out of his life. That's when Adnan finally decided to shed the extra kilos and walk the path towards healthy living.
Adnan Sami's Transformation Starts
Adnan moved to Houston in order to seek the help of an expert, who could guide him over his weight loss journey. Initially, it was very hard for him to let go of his usual routine and change. His doctors realised that he was an emotional eater. He would just take refuge in food when he was sad, depressed and he would just celebrate any kind of happiness by indulging in delicacies. He had to stop doing this and hence it was more of a psychological challenge than a physical one.
Adnan Sami's First Step To Fitness
His doctors advised him to go on a high protein diet. He was strictly alluded of white bread, rice, oil and sugar. He was asked to keep a distance from alcohol as it hampers the weight loss process. But this did not mean that he had to eat raw - tasteless food. He was allowed to eat home made food and things like pop corn without salt, diet chocolate fudge sticks and ice lollies instead of ice cream. Being overweight, he was not in a state to carry out any physical activity and hence for initial two months, he just had to follow this diet and walk if possible.
Adnan Sami's Change Started Showing
Initially, when he lost 4-5 kgs, he didn't find any change in his physical appearance but his near and dear ones could witness the change and appreciated him for the same. This gave him a major boost to work hard and live better. He continued with the diet and reached a phase where he could sleep properly and didn't need a support to get up. He felt better and confident. Once he lost approximately 40 kgs, he was then put on a workout regime. He could now run on a treadmill and do minor exercises.
Adnan Sami's Trick To Losing Weight
Adnan, in one of his interviews, revealed that the Indian hospitality was a major cause of overeating. Being a celebrity of course, he was invited to various parties and was forced to taste several delicacies. But, here's the trick. Once Adnan decided to lose weight, he used to attend such parties but never cheated on his diet. He said that he would fill his plate with variety of food so that people assume that he is eating but he did not eat. He said that even when he was drinking water, people assumed that he was drinking vodka and that saved him from over eating.

The end results of all his efforts have turned out to be successful. He is a transformed man now with no sword of death because of obesity hanging over him. He lost approximately 130 kgs in just 11 months and has emerged more confident than ever. There's no doubt that he looks handsome and cute at the same time. You are an inspiration Adnan, we must say!
