Deepika Padukone one of the ruling Divas of Bollywood is known not only for her looks but also for her acting skills. She marked her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. The leggy beauty soon walked into the hearts of her fans who were bowled over by her acting prowess and beauty. In her career of over a decade, Deepika has given us several iconic movies and has managed to work with many A-lister actors and directors. Fans love to watch her as she is known for getting into the skin of the character.

Some of Deepika Padukone’s blockbusters are Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Ram Leela, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and more. She has also worked with Hollywood action star Vin Diesel in XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

At present Deepika Padukone holds an enviable position in Bollywood.  But not many know that the Piku star has rejected many blockbuster films in her career. Deepika has rejected Sultan, Dhoom 3, Fast and Furious and more.

Sultan

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sultan went on to be a major money-spinner. Anushka as Aarfa and Salman as wrestler Sultan impressed the audience with their performances. But not many know that Deepika Padukone was the first choice for the movie. However, she apparently turned down the offer and the role went into Anushka’s kitty. Rest is history.

The 3rd instalment of the popular YRF franchise Dhoom 3 featured Aamir Khan in a double role. The gorgeous Katrina Kaif scorched the screen with her Kamli. But do you know Deepika was offered Katrina’s role but she rejected it due to her busy schedule? The movie went on to be one of the most talked-about instalments of the Dhoom franchise.

Fast and Furious 7

Deepika Padukone made her Hollywood debut in 2017. But she was offered a role in a Hollywood blockbuster much earlier. Yes, Deepika was offered Fast and Furious 7 but she was shooting for Ram Leela with Ranveer Singh. So the beauty had to let go of the offer due to her booked schedule. But she went on to make her big Hollywood debut with the 2017 release xXx: Return Of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel. Nathalie Emmanuel essayed the role that was offered to Deepika. She reprised the role in The Fate of the Furious and will soon be seen in F9.

Deepika Padukon has often opened up about her wish of working with Salman Khan. But each time gave up on the project due to her busy schedule. Yes, she was not only offered Sultan opposite the Dabangg Khan but even Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The actress was being considered for the role of Maithili; however, she had to turn it down due to her busy schedule. The role later went to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is quite special to Yash Chopra fans as it is the last film directed by the iconic filmmaker. Reports abounded that Deepika was being roped in for Akira’s role in the movie which featured Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead. However, things didn’t work out and the role went to Anushka Sharma.

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor‘s sizzling chemistry in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Tamasha was loved by fans. But when the beauty was offered Roy opposite the Barfi star she turned down the offer for reasons unknown. The role was then given to Jacqueline Fernandez.

Rumours abound that Deepika Padukone was also offered  Gangubai Kathiawadi. But nothing was confirmed of the same.

Deepika Padukone is currently representing India as a jury member at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in 2022. She has been creating a buzz on the red carpet with her fashion choices leaving the fashion police in awe.
