The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) was bigger and better. The awards ceremony was organised at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The who’s who of Bollywood was part of the event. Several celebrities including Shahid Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sara Ali Khan among others made ravishing appearances on the green carpet. Some celebs also delivered amazing performances.

Vicky Kaushal bagged the trophy for Best Actor award for his role in Sardar Udham. Kriti Sanon took home the trophy for Best Actress for her performance in the hit film, Mimi. Salman Khan gives shoutout to Shah Rukh Khan: Salman Khan was the perfect host for the event. In one of the clips doing rounds on the internet, Salman can be heard talking about Shah Rukh Khan. The Dabangg actor says, “Mere peeche ek hi aadmi hai, aur uska naam hai Shah Rukh Khan. Aur ye kabse mere peeche hai. Kyuki kya hai na ki Mannat ki joh building hai woh Galaxy ke peeche hai. Agar uss tarah se dekhoge town side toh woh bohot aage hai.” He also added, “Humara ‘Pathaan’, humara ‘Jawan’, tayaar hai.

Vicky Kaushal dedicates his award to late Irrfan Khan: Vicky won Best Actor award for his performance in Sardar Udham. He dedicated his award to late Irrfan Khan. The actor said, “This is my first best actor award, and I want to dedicate it to an actor whom I’ve admired and respected all my life, we lost him too soon – the original choice to play Sardar Udham, late dear Irrfan sahab.”
