Aamir Khan rejected this movie because of negative role. But finally Shah Rukh Khan played the role of a villain and it is considered to be one of his best performance.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge romantic highest grossing Bollywood film directed by Aditya Chopra was first offered to Aamir Khan to play the character of Raj. The film changed the image of Shah Rukh from villain to King of romance.
