Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her cute little daughter Aaradhya Bachchan are in Melbourne to attend the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017. Today morning, this beautiful mother-daughter duo hoisted the Indian National Flag as a part of their celebration of 70th year of India’s Independence. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the first female actor ever to receive this honour of hoisting the Indian National Flag at the IFFM. Later, they both also sang the National Anthem of India, Jana Gana Mana.

Overwhelmed Aishwarya thanked Melbourne for giving her this opportunity and said, “Thank you so much Melbourne, thank you everyone for giving us such a moment of pride and happiness with so much love and warmth. Celebrating our 70th Independence Day will forever be such a beautiful memory for me and my dearest Aaradhya.” [sic] Reportedly, the actress first spoke in Hindi and then went on to translate some words into English.
