Mahesh Babu to Disha Patani: Stars who REJECTED Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa is in rage right now! From its songs to dialogues to even their signature steps, people are going gaga over the film and making plenty of reels on Instagram. The Hindi version of the film is about to score a century at the box office, so far, the pan-India film has collected Rs 97 crores. Well, seeing Arjun and Rashmika as Pushparaj and Srivalli seem quite apt. One would in fact say that the characters were tailor-made for Rashmika and Allu Arjun. But you’ll be surprised to know that the duo was not the makers first choices for the film.

Reportedly, some of the top stars like Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, Mahesh Babu, Vijay Sethupathi and even Samantha had rejected the film which then became a huge gain for the lead stars of Pushpa.

Disha Patani: According to the reports, director Sukumar was planning to rope in the Baaghi 2 actor for Pushpa for a special song but when that didn’t pan out, we all know that Samantha took away the prize, making Oo Antava a massive hit.

Mahesh Babu: Director Sukumar had first approached the Maharishi actor to play the lead role in this action entertainer. However, the duo reportedly had creative differences. Due to this, Mahesh’s loss became Allu Arjun’s biggest gain. Praising Allu Arjun’s performance, Mahesh Babu had shared on Twitter, “@alluarjun as Pushpa is stunning, original and sensational… a stellar act.”

Nora Fatehi: Just like Disha, the makers even tried to make it work with Nora Fatehi who is known for her amazing dancing skills and sizzling songs. But the plan didn’t work out as she reportedly demanded a whopping amount for the same. A report mentioned Fatehi demanded Rs 2 crore for the dance song. As that didn’t materialise, the makers went along with Samantha.

Vijay Sethupathi: One of the biggest stars who has essayed the role of an antagonist in films like Master, Vikram Vedha was once approached by the makers of Pushpa to play the antagonist opposite Allu Arjun. But he had to turn down the offer due to date issues. Kannada actor Dhananjaya played the role.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu: Last but not the least, the Majili actor also rejected the film. How come? Well, reportedly, she was approached for Srivalli role in the film but denied it. However, the makers tried their best to convince her of the song.
