Jab Tak Hai Jaan – Son of Sardaar

Jab Tak Hai Jaan, romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. The movie was released on 13 November 2012 along with 'Son of Sardaar' featuring Ajay Devgan, Juhi Chawla, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. Jab Tak Hai Jaan received positive-to-mixed reviews from critics in India and positive reviews overseas and it opened well at the box office. Jab Tak Hai Jaan emerged as the third-highest-grossing Bollywood film overseas at that time, after 3 Idiots and My Name Is Khan while Son of Sardaar was not big hit as compared to Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Chennai Express – Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara

Chennai Express, romantic comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Chennai Express was released on 8 August 2013 and Ekta Kapoor's 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara' on 15 August 2013. This was scheduled one week later to avoid clashing with 'Chennai Express'. Chennai Express received mixed reviews from critics, it broke several box office records in India and abroad and becoming the quickest film to collect ₹1 billion net domestically and 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara' received mixed to negative reviews and performed poorly at the box office.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, romantic comedy drama film which was written and directed by Karan Johar starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol as a lead role and Rani Mukerji, Salman Khan had an extended guest appearance. The movie was released on 16 October 1998 in Diwali along with 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a remake of the Hollywood film 'Bad Boys' starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in a double role. This movie was the first hit of Amitabh Bachchan at the box office since his comeback after a few years of hiatus from Bollywood. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was the second highest grosser of the year after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Dilwale – Bajirao Mastani

'Diwale' a Rohit Shetty Directorial, starring Superstar Shah rukh Khan along with Kajol Devgn, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles, released on 18th December 2015. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra released on the same date as well. Soon after the release, 'Dilwale' was declared a major hit as it generated a whopping amount of Rs 65.09 crore in the all-important first weekend while Bajirao Mastani’s corresponding figure was Rs 46.77 crore.
