Tiger Shroff, Vicky Kaushal, John Abraham & Farhan Akhtar to clash at the box-office on Oct 2, 2020
Apart from a good script, releasing the film on the right date also matters a lot in this film industry. Our filmmakers literally fight it out to bag the coveted festivals release date for their films. And especially when the film boast of a terrific ensemble cast there’s so much on stake.
But then we have limited dates so it’s inevitable that the films end up clashing. Exactly a year from today, we have four big-budget films clashing at the box office. And they are Tiger Shroff starrer ‘Rambo’, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sardar Udham Singh‘, John Abraham’s ‘Satyameva Jayate 2‘ and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Toofan’. So yes it’s going to be a wait and watch kind of situation. And a hectic week for our movie critics.
This year on October 2, which marks Gandhi Jayanti, we had Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s action-thriller ‘War’ clashing with South Superstar Chiranjeevi’s historical drama ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. Next year on October 2, we will witness a huge clash between ‘Rambo’, ‘Sardaar Udham Singh’, ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ and ‘Toofan’.
Let’s have a look at these four films
Tiger Shroff is all set to get into the shoes of America’s legendary actor Sylvester Stallone with his desi version of ‘Rambo’. Directed by Siddharth Anand the film will go on floors next year and it has already booked October 2 as its release date. The remake will be an out and out actioner with Tiger playing John Rambo. More than anyone its Tiger who is extremely excited about the remake, since he will be stepping into the shoes of Stallone. Now whether or not he will live up to everyone’s expectation we will come to know that only after the film’s release.
‘Satyameva Jayate 2’
This Milap Milan Zaveri directorial is a sequel of ‘Satyamev Jayate’ that hit the silver screens last year. John Abraham will once again be seen on his patriotism overdrive and this time joining him will be producer Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Khosla Kumar. Yes, Divya is making a comeback in films as an actress. Talking about the film, John had said, “With ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’, the aim, once again, is to entertain the audience with a story that’s relevant in today’s times.” This vigilante action film is also releasing on October 2 next year.
‘Sardar Udham Singh’

Running my fingers through the bullet holes at Jallianwala Baug, little did I realise that I would one day get a chance to re-live and depict the anger and anguish of the lesser known martyr, revolutionary… SARDAR UDHAM SINGH. #SardarUdhamSingh @shoojitsircar @ronnie.lahiri #SheelKumar @writish1 #ShubenduBhattacharya #RisingSunFilms @sadarudhamfilm
Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, ‘ Sardar Udham Singh’ is a biopic of the revolutionary freedom fighter Udham Singh. Vicky Kaushal is playing the lead role in the biopic. While everyone frets over their film’s clash, Vicky is quite happy about it. Talking about the clash, Vicky at Jagran Film Festival had said, “It’s good that India is making so many films — that 4-5 films release at a time. This is very fruitful for the makers and for the audience as well. Eventually, the audience is the king. It’s their choice what they want to watch. The important thing is that good films should be made. I wish next year, on 2 October, more films should release and audiences should be entertained with promising films.”

Farhan Akhtar is all set to reunite with his ‘Bhaag Mikha Bhaag’ director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for yet another sports drama ‘Toofan’. But this time it is a fictional story of a boxer played by Farhan. The film will see Paresh Rawal playing Farhan’s coach.
So with four power-packed performers locking horn at the box-office on October 2 next year, it’s ultimately the audience who will decide their fate. Let’s see who emerges out as a winner. Also perhaps until next year, one of these films might b0w out of the race. You never know.
Until then stay tuned for more such interesting updates.
