'Manikarnika' is the upcoming biopic on the warrior queen Rani Laxmi Bai. Kangana is playing the lead and movie is slated to release on January 25, 2019.

Thackeray

Nawazzudin Siddiqui starrer ‘Thackeray' is one of the much-awaited biopics of 2019. Nawazuddin will be seen as Balasaheb Thackeray. Written and co-produced by Shiva Sena’s Rajya Sabha lawmaker Sanjay Raut and directed by Abhijit Panse, the movie is releasing on January 25, 2019.

The Accidental Prime Minister

'The Accidental Prime Minister' is based on the life of the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Anupam Kher will be seen as the Prime Minister. The movie will release on January 11, 2019.

Shakeela

‘Shakeela‘ is based on the real-life story of Shakeela, 90s adult film star. Richa Chadha will be in the character of Shakeela. Helmed by Indrajit Lankesh, the release date is yet to be announced but it is scheduled to hit the screens next year in summer.

Salute

Shah Rukh Khan will be playing astronaut Rakesh Sharma in his biopic titled 'Salute'. Earlier Aamir Khan was supposed to play the lead. For the unversed, Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian astronaut to land in moon. The movie is expected to release next year.

Gunjan Saxena Biopic

Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in the biopic on Gunjan Saxena, India’s first female combat aviator. During the 1999 Kargil war, Gunjan had evacuated injured Indian soldiers. She is the first woman to receive the Shaurya Vir Award.

Saina Nehwal Biopic

Shraddha Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Saina Nehwal in the badminton champion’s biopic. The first look of Shraddha as the badminton player is out. The movie is directed by Amol Gupte.
