Adivi Sesh starrer Major’s release date is postponed. The Pan-India movie was scheduled to release on July 2. Due to the current situation, the makers have pushed the release date. They released a statement that read: “Our film Major, which was originally scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 2nd July, is now postponed to a later date”. The new release date is yet to be announced.

The statement further read, “We will announce the new release date once things are back to normal. Times are tough but so are we.”

Adivi Sesh shared the statement on social media and wrote, “ReleaseDay of #MajorTheFilm will be my PROUDEST moment. So Let’s celebrate when times get better. Safer. Maamulga undadhu. I Promise #JaiHind IN THEATERS. Will let you know the date!”

Major is based on the life of Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the NSG commando who rescued hostages from the terrorists in the Mumbai 26/11 attack and lost his life while trying to save the people. Apart from acting, Adivi has also written the film. It is produced by Mahesh Babu’s G Mahesh Babu Entertainment in partnership with Sony Pictures and A+S Movies. Sashi Kiran Tikka has directed Major. It also stars Prakash Raj, Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Revathi, and Murali Sharma.

Major teaser was dropped on April 12 by Salman Khan, Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.
