Samantha to Khushbu Sundar: South celebs are all praises for men's hockey team's Olympic bronze win

Many sportsmen and women are bringing glory to India by winning medals at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020. And recently, India’s men’s hockey team created history by bringing the bronze medal home after long 41 years. For the unversed, India had won in the year 1980 during the Moscow Olympics.

As soon as India won against Germany, celebs from across the country started pouring congratulatory messages for the winning team. South celebs such as Khushbu Sundar, Samantha, Sarathkumar, and Anil Ravipudi among others took to social media to congratulate the men in blue.

Samantha shared a photo of the Indian team on her Instagram story and wrote, “After 41 years (sic),” with three folded-hands emojis. Veteran actor Sarathkumar took to Twitter and tweeted, “Indian Hockey Men create HISTORY!! A medal at Olympic after 41 years!! What a stupendous performance!! Entire nation Proud of you boys and it’s a bronze medal for the Indian Hockey team. Congratulations men in Blue! #Hockey #Olympics 5-4 (sic).” Actress Tamannaah Bhatia wrote, “A win that will go down in history! What a phenomenal performance by our men’s hockey team. Bringing home the bronze after 41 years! Congratulations Team India #Olympics #Cheer4India #BackTheBlue.”

Aside from South celebs, stars from B-town such as Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan among others too wished the Hockey team for their humongous win.
