Silambarasan TR aka Simbu will do a fundraiser film for the Tamil Nadu Movie Makers Sangam (TMMS). TMMS is currently being headed by Simba’s mother, Usha Rajhenderr. As per a report in Times of India, in a press release, the association announced the news and informed that Simba had volunteered to feature in a film when the association members were discussing to start a cultural event to raise funds.

The statement read, “The amount that we generate through this film will go towards medical help for producers who aren’t in good financial health, and the education and marriage expenses of their wards, and providing life and medical insurance among others.”

The statement also stated that the work on the film will begin shortly and they are planning to release the movie by 2021 itself. It will be a big-budget film and will be backed by Singaravelan, who is one of the vice presidents of the association. Gnanagiri will be writing the story, screenplay and dialogues, and also directing the film. For the unversed, he made his debut as a dialogue writer with Simbu’s Vaanam.

On the work front, Simbu and Gautham Menon are collaborating again for a new film. It is to be produced by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International. Simbu and Gautham Menon last worked on the pandemic short film Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn. Earlier, they had worked in Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. His last release was Eeswaran that also stars Niddhi Agerwal. The movie released in theatres on January 14. It has got positive reviews. Also, he has Maha with Hansika Motwani. Simbu will be seen in Venkat Prabhu’s political thriller Maanaadu.

The South star has turned a year older today and fans are pouring in their wishes for him on social media.
