Last year, in November Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, announced their breakup on social media, leaving all their fans heartbroken.  The couple made the announcement that they will be parting ways in a joint statement where Shawn and Camila mentioned that they will continue to remain “best friends.”

Now, finally, after months after their split, Camila has opened up on her breakup with Shawn. According to Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily, the Havana singer revealed that her priorities shifted. “As I get older, the priorities shift. And I feel like that was that way for both of us, We both started so young, too. It’s like we’re really learning how to be healthy adults.” Camila also stated that her priorities in life have “fluctuated” as she has gotten older. “My focus has changed throughout my life.”

Cabello in the interview discussed how “things change” and referred to her relationship with Shawn Mendes and said: “I love Shawn, and I feel like there is literally nothing but love for him. I’m finally at a place where I feel like I’ve had experiences, I’m doing the therapy, I’ve put in a lot of work. My focus really has shifted a lot.”

The singer also touched upon her forthcoming album Familia and said, “Those years that we were dating … even while I was writing this album and even still now, I guess my focus is really on, ‘How can I be a well-rounded person?'”

In January, this year, after breaking up almost 2 months ago, ​​​​former couple were spotted spending time together again as they hung out in Miami, Florida. The duo were seen walking with their Golden Retriever, Tarzan around a park as they chatted.

Post their breakup in November, Shawn also released a song, which was seemingly about the split, titled, It’ll Be Okay.
