Kim Seok-jin, better known as Jin, has been discharged from the military. The BTS member has completed his compulsory military training required from all South Korean male citizens. The 31-year-old singer enlisted in the South Korean military in December 2022 months after releasing his debut solo single – The Astronaut, in October the same year. His discharge was a wholesome affair as it saw fellow BTS members – RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, welcome him with hugs and music.

Several videos and pictures have made their way online capturing the emotions of Jin’s discharge ceremony. From shedding tears as he prepared to leave the military camp, to sharing warm hugs with 5 members of the famous boy band, World Wide Handsome was emotional.

In the videos going viral, we see a uniform-clad Jin receiving a bouquet of flowers soon after exiting the military camp. After sharing a warm hug with BTS leader RM Jin had an emotional reunion with J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. Kim Nam-joon welcomed his bandmate by performing their Grammy-nominated song Dynamite on the saxophone While Suga couldn’t join the members at the ceremony, reports state he will meet Jin later in the day.

Jin also got teary as he said goodbye to his military comrades.

BTS’ agency, BigHit Music requested fans not to gather outside the military camp where Jin was being discharged from. They issued a statement on Weverse reading, “Please note that the discharge day is reserved for military personnel only. No special events are planned on the day of Jin’s discharge. To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts.”
