Sean Diddy Combs Pleads NOT Guilty Ahead Of Trial
As reported by BBC, the 55-year-old Combs appeared in court before U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, dressed in a tan prison outfit and with noticeable grey hair and beard, with several family members present in the audience. His upcoming trial is set for May 5.
This new indictment does not introduce new charges but elaborates on accusations of “forced labour” allegedly demanded by Combs as part of the 20-year racketeering scheme. It outlines claims that he and his associates “maintained control” over certain employees by subjecting them to gruelling work hours and threats of physical, financial, psychological, and reputational harm. Combs’ defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has asserted that his client never coerced anyone into sexual acts against their will.
Sean Diddy Combs Exploited Women
According to prosecutors from the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office, Combs allegedly exploited his business empire, including his record label Bad Boy Entertainment. It was to engage in the sexual exploitation of women from 2004 to 2024. The indictment details incidents where women were reportedly involved in recorded sexual acts dubbed “freak offs” with male sex workers. It has also been reported that some of them were allegedly transported across state lines.
Agnifilo contended that these acts were consensual. In addition to these criminal charges, Combs faces numerous civil lawsuits from both women and men alleging sexual assault. It mentions various forms of misconduct, all of which he has denied.
During Friday’s hearing, Judge Subramanian indicated that prospective jurors will start filling out questionnaires on April 28. It will include an in-person juror questioning set for May 5 and opening statements scheduled for May 12. Since his arrest in September 2024, Combs has been detained at a Brooklyn jail.
