According to sources who emphasise that this is simply a procedural step and not an indication of their actual involvement. As reported, close friends of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds—Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman—might be asked to testify or provide relevant documents amidst the ongoing legal battle.

According to PEOPLE, Blake and Taylor have maintained a longstanding friendship. This has led to Taylor being mentioned in an email that allegedly suggested she had a role in the film’s creative interference alongside Blake and her husband, Reynolds. The possibility of Taylor’s deposition arose months after Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, stated, “I don’t know that we’re going to depose Taylor Swift or not,” Freedman told TMZ in February. “I think that’s gonna be probably a game-time decision.”

While neither Jackman nor Taylor is directly involved in the lawsuit, a source with knowledge of the situation clarified that the subpoenas are merely a part of legal protocol for anyone with knowledge of the case. “Anyone that had any knowledge of this situation will be subpoenaed, no matter their celebrity status.” Another insider affirmed that Taylor and Jackman are “not privy to anything going on,” dismissing the speculation as “smoke and mirrors” intended to draw attention away from the allegations against Baldoni.

In December, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively. The name of her publicist and her husband, asserting claims of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment, among other accusations. Jackman and Reynolds have previously starred together as Deadpool and Wolverine in the superhero franchise. While Jackman’s name has not appeared in this ongoing feud, Taylor, who is the godmother of the couple’s 4 children, has been seen socialising with them on multiple occasions. Her name arose in an alleged text exchange between Baldoni and Lively, included in Baldoni’s lawsuit filed in January. Blake referred to her as a “dragon,” possibly alluding to a Game of Thrones character. Following this, reports emerged of a rift between the two friends. Sources indicate the “Cruel Summer” singer is distancing herself from the situation.

In Baldoni’s countersuit, he included a text he sent to Blake during filming. He expressed appreciation for her work. He wrote, “Was working on rooftop scene today, I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor.)” This message was part of the evidence submitted in January.

Despite Taylor’s name appearing in these legal documents, sources close to her have insisted to Weekly that she was not involved in the film’s production or creative process. She has inadvertently found herself caught in this dispute.
