Actor and comedian Vir Das had bagged a nomination in the 49th International Emmy Awards which was held on November 23 in New York City. The actor lost out on an Emmy to Call My Agent who bagged best comedy series. Well, having said that, Vir took to his Instagram account and penned a note saying even though he missed out on the coveted award, he still got a medal and ate a fantastic salad. Das even shared a picture of his salad which looks extremely delicious.

Sharing the snaps on his Instagram account, Vir wrote, “I was nominated for best comedy at the International Emmy Awards, for jokes. Call My Agent, a gigantic beautiful show I love won. But I got this medal, and ate this fantastic salad with a very interesting crispy cheese topping. It was an honour to represent my country. Thanks so much to the @iemmys For India. It’s always for India. #VirDasForIndia.

The moment he shared the post, Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan, Priyanka Chopra, Neena Gupta, Sophie Choudry, and more congratulated him for bagging a medal in the comment section.

Apart from Vir Das, Nawazuddin Siddiqui missed out on the Best Actor Award whereas Sushmita Sen starter Aarya was nominated for Best Drama series. However, stars like David Tennant and Hayley Squires have bagged the Best Actress and Actors Awards for Des and Adult Material respectively.

Meanwhile, Vir Das has been grabbing headlines some time back for his controversial statement in ‘I come from two Indias’ where he performed at the John F Kennedy Centre in Washington DC.
