Made In Heaven Review:

The OTT space has given birth to an altogether different level of creative freedom. In fact, it has even emerged as a space for filmmakers to put forth their bold or radical views for the audiences. In 2019, the web series Made In Heaven took the plunge to bring its bold, modern, unapologetic content addressing several societal stigmas to the viewers. It was lauded and loved, in fact, the show got nominated and even won several awards. On a global level, the Emmy nomination is what made this series a bigwig. Four years later, Made In Heaven Season 2 has been released, and here’s our review of it…

While so much time has passed, the lives of Tara Khanna, Karan, and all others haven’t changed much. These most loved wedding planners of Delhi are still grappling with adversities. They are dealing with drama at their weddings as well as on a personal level. The LGBT topic is lurking in the background, but this time they are taking on even more issues.

Highlighting the dichotomy of traditions existing in the ‘so-called modern Indian society’ the show is beautifully put together. It is very subtle yet very strong in calling out issues of racism, patriarchy, toxic relationships, and so much more. All in all, Made In Heaven 2 is full-on binge-watch material. It won’t let you blink but rather be an eye-opener about certain archaic issues still existing.

Certain dynamics have changed, some new entries have stepped into the show, and they are sweet, charming, and fun to watch.

What’s great about Made In Heaven 2

1. Mona Singh as Bulbul Jauhari

The Made In Heaven family has been joined by an auditor in season 2, and she is the coolest of them all. She is a queen, a boss lady in her own sense. While Mona as Bulbul might be sheepish about the ways of the high society, she owns all of it like a pro. The sassiness of her character will instantly hit it off with the viewers. Yes, you won’t know when you will just start loving her. The way Mona Singh has played this role, she definitely should start giving boss lady classes after this.

2. Ishwak Singh and Trinetra Haldar

The other two new entries into the show are also the ones grabbing your attention. While Ishwak will leave you floored with his charm, Trinetra’s bold and strong personality will impress you. While Made In Heaven is a show where a lot lies on an actor’s performance, these two have managed to get the groove just right. Chef’s kiss for Trinetra’s dialogue delivery, and certainly lots of claps for Ishwak’s expressions and demeanor.

3. Tara Khanna, Karan Mehra, and the Made In Heaven gang

Certain things are best left untouched. Kudos to the makers for keeping the suaveness of Tara, the innocence of Karan, the quirk of Jazz, and the elegance of Kabir intact. Even Mr. Jauhari’s I know everything stance is kept unchanged and that is good. It was nice to see the character graphs continue. From where they left off, they deal with the emotional baggage further. Digging into their headspaces, especially that of Faiza and Adil was great to watch. The first season hadn’t given us closure. If the second one did, you will have to watch the new season to know.

Drawbacks of Made In Heaven 2

1. The extended cast

While the social topics chosen in every episode are great, the problem is with the bride and groom who are executing them. With a brilliant principal cast, the extended cast doesn’t just manage to strike a chord. In some episodes, the characters are just too loud or over the top, in the brides, they are either too docile or superficial. Even the grooms, don’t manage to leave you in awe but are easily forgotten as you move on to a new episode.

2. The duration and pace

Another issue with this season is that some episodes are of very long duration. And this length marrs the essence immensely. It gets boring after a point, with you wishing to know how this theme ends, probably you might be tempted to fast forward also quite a lot. Even the pace of the story gets very slow and dragged at places and that is something which could have been paid attention to.

Conclusion:

All in all, Made In Heaven 2 is a delight to watch. So with so many releases, this one should be a top choice on your watch list, you can watch it in the comfort of your home and enjoy the grandeur, the wedding vibes, and all the drama surrounding it. So do watch it!
