Rahu Ketu Review
Rahu Ketu marks a welcome reunion of the beloved Fukrey duo Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma, who once again prove why their comic chemistry is hard to beat. The comedy adventure film introduces us to Rahu and Ketu, two unlucky, bumbling characters mysteriously brought to life from a writer Churu Lal Sharma’s enchanted notebook. Created with the intent to fight corruption, their lives spiral into chaos thanks to their own misfortune.
The plot takes an interesting turn when Meenu Taxi, a mischievous and street-smart girl, steals the notebook and begins controlling their fate. What follows is a madcap journey involving a powerful mafia, bizarre situations and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. As the story unfolds, Rahu and Ketu slowly evolve from clueless pawns into unlikely heroes. Mixing comedy with crime, magic and light mythology. It explores fate, free will and the idea that one can rewrite their destiny. The end climax will shock you as it has a Kantara twist.
What Works
Fukrey duo Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma’s crackling chemistry in Rahu Ketu is the biggest strength. The concept of a mystical notebook tied to destiny adds a fresh, mythological twist to the comedy. The sharp dialogues and situational humor keep the narrative engaging. The underlying theme of fighting corruption gives substance to the madness.
What Doesn’t Work
In Rahu Ketu, the second half feels slightly stretched and chaotic at times. Some jokes don’t land as effectively as expected. The narrative occasionally struggles to balance mythology and realism smoothly.
Technical Analysis
Rahu Ketu is visually vibrant, with energetic background music that complements its quirky tone.
It also builds tension during the darker, crime-driven sequences, enhancing the film’s mythical and mischievous vibe. The editing could have been tighter, especially in the latter half, but the overall technical execution supports the film’s comic-fantasy world well.
The music of Rahu Ketu perfectly matches the film’s quirky and chaotic tone. The songs are fun, peppy, and placed well within the narrative without slowing the story down.
Star Performances
Varun Sharma as Rahu is in top form, delivering impeccable comic timing and physical humor. His portrayal of the eternally confused Rahu is both hilarious and endearing.
Pulkit Samrat as Ketu balances charm and chaos effortlessly. He brings depth to Ketu, especially in moments where the character begins to grow beyond just comic relief.
Shalini Pandey impresses as Meenu Taxi, adding spunk, mischief, and emotional grounding to the narrative.
The supporting cast Piyush Mishra, Chunky Panday, Amit Sial, Manu Rishi Chadda and Sumit Gulati add weight and colour to the film, each leaving a mark in their respective roles.
Conclusion
Rahu Ketu stands out as an entertaining blend of deception, divine retribution, and cosmic balance. Powered by strong performances, especially from its lead duo, and backed by a quirky, mythological concept, the comedy film makes for a fun watch despite a few flaws. A solid entertainer that proves destiny can be rewritten with a little chaos and a lot of laughter.
