Anil Kapoor shoots for the digital adaptation of 'The Book of Strange New Things'

After making an appearance in the international TV series ’24’ and Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, actor-producer Anil Kapoor is all thrilled to join in another international project with the team of Amazon. The actor has been cast to shoot for the original pilot based on author Michel Faber’s 2014 bestseller ‘The Book of Strange New Things’.

Anil will be seen playing the part of Vikram Danesh, the authoritative head of the base on Oasis. Co-produced by Amazon Studios and Left Bank Productions, this pilot will be of a duration of one hour. The plot revolves around a priest who is sent into space to help found a new colony. But what he ends up discovering not only puts his faith to the test but life as we know it.

Nitesh Kripalani, Director and Country Head of Amazon Video India has given a statement saying, “‘The Book of Strange New Things’ is a mesmerising genre-defying novel from a writer in full command of his many talents, and we couldn’t think of anyone better than Anil Kapoor to play this complex role.”

Directed by Kevin MacDonald, it would be quite interesting to see Anil Kapoor in this new zone of adaptation project.
