Shahid Kapoor's diet plan for film 'Padmavati'

In today’s times, almost all the Bollywood stars are going lengths to prepare and maintain the perfect look for their films. Among them is actor Shahid Kapoor, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film ‘Padmavati’, and has been working out overtime this month to beef up his look, i.e. for his character of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. The actor has collaborated with Mumbai-based Canadian Chef Kelvin Cheung, who has worked out a special diet for him, which comprises of three meals and two snack packs.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actor’s diet plan includes greens like broccoli, kale and spinach, along with grains and legumes that are rich in protein in his afternoon meal. Talking about this diet plan of Shahid, Kelvin has quoted to Mumbai Mirror saying, “Shahid has always been fit and healthy but he also needs an energy boost to survive the long working hours of this arduous schedule and the aim is to efficiently give him stronger muscle mass while maintaining the aesthetics of his look.” [sic]

“Since he is on a no-salt diet, Shahid gravitates towards Asian cuisine since the spices used give the meal a certain flavour despite the absence of salt. Mexican meals like a rice wrap, which is like a burrito with lots of grilled, steamed or raw vegetables, is a once-a-week treat. Since Shahid is always working, it is important to make the meals enjoyable so that he can look forward to eating,” added Kelvin. [sic]

Further, it is mentioned in this report that usually the actor has Asian cuisine. However, he is allowed to treat himself with a Mexican meal like a rice wrap with lots of grilled, steamed or raw vegetables once in a week. Shahid even treats himself with sweet nuggets made of coconut milk as he is not allowed to consume any artificial sugar. The actor also relishes having a bowl of mangoes in summer.

“He’s completely focused and always prepared to follow a meal design,” said Kelvin. [sic]

Feeling it’s completely worth it, Shahid Kapoor has said, “I follow a high-energy diet with lots of vegetables. Fitness has always been a part of who I am. Even though it can be tougher, it’s completely worth it and satisfying at the end of the day.” [sic]

Talking about the film ‘Padmavati’, it is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and witnesses Deepika playing the titular role. While Ranveer Singh plays the role of Sultan Alauddin Khilji.

The film is slated to release on November 17, 2017.
