Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama ‘Padmavati’ which went on floors yesterday, has been in the spotlight for several reasons and one of them being the fees of the leading lady, Deepika Padukone. Well, the rumours of Dippy getting paid a whopping amount of Rs 11 crore for the film may have lied low for a while now, but they seem to have cropped up once again.

Recently, the male lead Ranveer Singh was asked by a leading daily on Deepika’s fees being more than him. He reacted of course, but in his distinctive manner. “Let me put it this way. If I am the leading man of the film and the filmmaker is asking me to support him in a certain aspect so as not to burden the budget of the film, I will do whatever I can to support the vision,” said Ranveer.

Now, that’s quite clear isn’t it?

‘Padmavati’ features Deepika Padukone in the titular role of Rani Padmavati, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji whereas Shahid Kapoor will play the role of Padmavati’s husband, Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. There are also speculations that Aditi Rao Hydari has been roped in to play Ranveer Singh’s favourite begum, Kamala Devi. The movie will be releasing in November 2017.
