Kamal-Haasan

Looks like Kamal Haasan’s controversial thoughts over ‘Mahabharata’ have called for a legal trouble for the actor. In his recent speech, the actor had shown displeasure over the contents included in the book ‘Mahabharata’. He said, “In Mahabharata, Panchali was used as… collateral. India is a country that respects and honours a book that revolves around men gambling away a woman as if she was a mere object.” This did not go down well with the propagators of Hinduism and soon a controversy broke out with people slamming Kamal Haasan for his comments.

Following this, we now hear that a case has been filed against the actor by Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) community for hurting their religious sentiments. Apparently, now the Tamil Nadu Court has summoned the actor. Kamal Haasan has to appear in court on May 5.

People who are agitated with his comments are demanding an apology from the star. Pranavananda Swami from the Basaveshwara Mutt too expressed his displeasure over his comments and said, “It is unbecoming of actor Kamal Haasan to hurt the sentiments of any religious community, including Christians and Muslims. He has been in the thick of controversies even in the past, and we demand he should apologise.”
