Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra, who visited her home country for a vacation, was under a shock with the news of her maternal grandmother passing away. Her nani Madhu Jyotsana Akhauri breathed her last on June 3, 2016, leaving the star and her family in a sad state. Following her death, Late Madhu Jyotsana Akhauri’s body was taken to Kerala for her burial as it was her last wish, but unfortunately, the Church in Kerala refused to grant her burial stating that she had married a Hindu. To this, PeeCee has now come out in the open and condemned this act of the Church.

Rather we should look that we lost a family member.” Well, definitely it was sad to know that Priyanka’s nani has been denied burial by the Church. She was was a Christian born as Mary John in St John’s Attamangalam parish in Kumarakom and had expressed a wish to be buried at the same church, but unfortunately, her last wish couldn’t be fulfilled.

Here, Priyanka had shared a picture from the funeral.
