priyanka chopra on koffee with karan 5

Global icon Priyanka Chopra has conquered the West with her talent and oodles of confidence. Her small screen stint in ‘Quantico’ and ‘Quantico 2’ as the main lead, Alex Parrish has earned her millions of fans overseas. She has also bagged many awards and is all set to prove herself on the Hollywood big screens too, with the movie ‘Baywatch’ this year, wherein she plays a negative role.

With so much happening, the actress still manages to shuttle between Bollywood and Hollywood and her recent appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan 5’, was nothing less than fabulous. One question that has been on everyone’s mind is how did she adapt to the American accent? Karan had a similar question for her when he asked her if it was tiring to learn and develop the US accent.

Here’s what she said, “It’s very difficult. It’s as difficult as being Kashibai and having a Maharashtrian accent. I had a dialect coach there, and I have a dialect coach here. Yeah, you’re always acting – I had to learn how to say the words. It took me so long to say some of these words in American [accent]. The Rs have to be really soft, flowing words, and you have to make sure you don’t enunciate – which is the opposite of what I was taught growing up. When we go to school, we learn the Queen’s English as it’s called, so you have to enunciate your vowels and say your Ws and your Vs.”

Karan who always has his mind elsewhere said that she sounds erotic and even asked her if that was a part of her accent to which she said that she can even sound erotic in Hindi. Nice!
