Emraan – who entered Bollywood in 2003 with the crime thriller Footpath, established himself as one Hindi cinema’s top actor with performances in films such as Awarapan, Jannat, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, The Dirty Picture, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, and most recently HAQ.

During an appearance on Karan Johar‘s chat show, Koffee With Karan in 2014, Emraan Hashmi wore his heart on his sleeve. While chatting about film and his family’s reaction to the type of cinema he used to do at that time, the actor revealed that his wife, Parveen Shahani, had no idea about the type of scenes he shot for Murder during the screening. He revealed, “In the first seat my wife is digging her nails into my hand like ‘what the hell have you done and you haven’t prepared me for this and what are you doing because this is not Bollywood’. When the hands came off, there were four jabs… I was injured…I was bleeding.”

During the same conversation, Emraan also shared that even though his wife hasn’t accepted this aspect of his job, they have reached a common ground. He stated, “Right now there is a deal that we have… The deal is I take her shopping and she probably swipes the card close to seven-digit numbers.”

Emraan’s Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Emraan Hashmi will soon star in Awarapan 2 and G2. The sequel of Emraan 2007 crime action film will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and is scheduled to release in 2026. While Hashmi will reprise his role, Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi has joined the film as pivotal characters. Talking about G2, Telugu-language spy action thriller is a sequel to Goodachari (2018). It is being directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and will see Adivi Sesh reprising his role. It will also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Madhu Shalini.
