The highly anticipated biopic Phule, which chronicles the lives of social reformers Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, premiered in a screening in Mumbai on Thursday evening. The film features Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa in leading roles. Patralekhaa looked stunning in a bright yellow saree at the screening, accompanied by her husband, actor Rajkummar Rao. Pratik Gandhi, portraying Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, donned a sharp kurta pyjama for the occasion.

In a gesture of solidarity, the cast and crew wore black pin badges and held a minute of silence to honour the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack that has left the nation in mourning. ‘Phule’ faced a series of challenges before its release; it was originally set to debut on April 11 but was postponed due to objections from the Brahmin community regarding their portrayal in the film.

Vinneet Kumar Siingh, who has recently found success with films like Chhaava and Superboys of Malegaon, also attended the Phule screening. Renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar was present, along with actor Rithwik Dhanjani, who arrived in a stylish ensemble of a black shirt and white pants. Huma Qureshi also made a fashion statement with her street-chic look at the event.
