Reasons why Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor broke up

Kareena Kapoor was apparently not happy with Shahid Kapoor's proximity to his 'Ishq Vishk' co-star Amrita Rao. Though Shahid and Amrita were said to be dating in the initial days of their career, they had never confirmed their liason. There were reports of their break up, but they remained friends thereafter. And this apparently did not go down too well with Kareena.

Saif lent Kareena an ear

While Kareena was struggling with too many questions about her relationship with Shahid, it was her 'Tashan' co-star Saif Ali Khan who lent an ear to her. Saif made a good friend in times when Bebo needed to talk and formed her support system.

The impression

Even before 'Tashan', Kareena was clearly impressed by Saif as the two came together to shoot for 'Omkara'. It was evident that Saif came between Kareena and Shahid.

The open confession

On Karan Johar's celebrity chat show 'Koffee With Karan', Kareena had openly expressed her liking for Saif. When she was asked to choose the better among Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan in 'Omkara', she mentioned Saif. In the same season, when Saif appeared on the show, Kareena had said that Saif is charming and one of the sexiest actors.

Saif pursued Kareena madly

Saif was bowled out in love with Kareena. The two hit it well while working in films together. Although Kareena already liked him, Saif tried his best to prove his love for Bebo. He went the extra mile and tattooed her name on his hand. Kareena was clearly touched by Saif's gesture. It was even reported that once when Saif was asked what he can do for his ladylove Kareena, he went to the extent of cutting his hand with a blade. That is how madly in love Saif was!

Moving on…

As Shahid and Kareena moved on from their break up, the two avoided acting together. Kareena refused to comment on her personal life everytime she was asked about it. Shahid however did open up about the pain he was going through. In an interview he confessed that he would be lying if he said it doesn't matter to him. He said that he had no hard feelings for Kareena and he also had no choice but to accept what happened.
