Mythri Movie Makers has officially welcomed Australian cricketer David Warner into the Indian film industry as he prepares to make his debut in the upcoming Telugu action entertainer, Robinhood, featuring actors Nithiin and Sreeleea in the lead roles. Warner shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating he thoroughly enjoyed the shooting process.

On Saturday, the production house unveiled a poster featuring Warner on their X timeline. They announced, “After leaving his mark on the cricket field, it’s time for him to shine on the silver screen. Introducing the beloved @davidwarner31 to Indian cinema with #Robinhood in an exciting cameo. Grand release worldwide on March 28th.”

Warner responded by posting on his own X account, “Indian cinema, here I come! Excited to be a part of #Robinhood. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting for this one. Grand release worldwide on March 28th.”

About Robinhood

The film, titled Robinhood, revolves around Nithiin’s character, Honey Singh, a thief who steals from the rich to help the poor. He is depicted as a courageous individual without a specific agenda, willing to confront anyone for the right reasons. Originally scheduled for release last year, Robinhood is set for a worldwide premiere on March 28. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, with Cherry as the CEO and Hari Tummala serving as Executive Producer. Directed by Venky Kudumula, the film also stars Sree Leela alongside Nithiin. The music is composed by National Award-winning G V Prakash Kumar, with cinematography by Sai Sriram. Raam Kumar is responsible for art direction, while editing is handled by Koti.

Robinhood marks the second collaboration between Nithiin and director Venky Kudumula, following their successful romantic action-comedy, Bheeshma. Warner’s affection for Telugu cinema is well-known, especially considering his close ties to the Indian Premier League (IPL). As a former captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he became a fan favourite for not only his cricketing skills but also his love for Telugu songs and dance. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Warner entertained fans with lighthearted videos of himself dancing to popular Telugu tracks, further enhancing his popularity within the Telugu-speaking community and making his film debut all the more exciting for fans.
