Known for his versatile performances and composed presence in superhit movies like Fashion, Crook, Son of Sardar, Bobby Jasoos, Rustom, and Kabir Singh and web series like Bestsellers and State of Siege: 26/11, actor Arjan Bajwa is happy that the current movies are bringing the audiences back to the cinema with much more excitement and anticipation. Scroll below to know all he shared.
Arjan Bajwa: “The Energy & Experience You Get Inside A Theater…”
Talking about audience returning to cinema halls, Arjan said, “I think the magic of the big screen never really went away, but now people are coming back to theaters with even more excitement. Films like Metro In Dono and Saiyaara have shown that if the content is strong, audiences will step out to watch it in cinemas.” He continued, “The energy and experience you get inside a theater is very different from watching something at home.”
But Arjan Bajwa doesn’t believe that there is one particular genre that excels on the big screen. He said, “More than genre, I think the story is king. If the film touches your heart or keeps you hooked, people will come watch it. Still, genres like suspense thrillers and strong emotional dramas are doing really well.”
As an actor, he looks forward to his movie releasing on the big screen, but he realizes OTT is important as well, as it gives more opportunities and more content. He said, “There’s a different feeling when your film releases in a theater—the sound, the visuals, the reactions from the audience, it’s special.” Arjan added, “But I also respect OTT a lot. It has given so many new opportunities and helped stories reach a bigger audience. Both are important today.”
Arjan: Every Actor Now Has More Chances To Showcase Their Work
For Arjan Bajwa, screen time is important, as he feels that if an actor is visibly present more, the audience remembers them more. He added, “But while having screen time, it’s extremely important for your role to take the story forward and add meaning to the overall narrative. It’s all about being present on the poster, the promotions, marketing, and overall publicity of the film for audiences to take you home with them.”
With actors now navigating between film, television, and digital platforms, he believes this expansion is a step forward. Arjan said, “It increases opportunities more than competition. Every actor now has more chances to showcase their work across different platforms. Yes, competition is there, but it pushes everyone to do better. And audiences are smart—they appreciate good work no matter where it comes from.”
