Avinash Dwivedi Wrote A Five-Page Backstory For His Character Dupahiya 2
Talking about the challenges of his entry scene, Avinash explained that Kuber’s reunion with Roshni after a long gap required him to understand everything that had happened between the two characters. He wanted to portray the emotions and reactions of someone meeting a person after a lot has changed in their lives.
“The scene where I make my entry was a little challenging because, as Kuber, as a character, I am meeting Roshni after quite a long time, and a lot has happened in between. So, creating the backstory for that period and figuring out how I would react when she comes in front of me after everything that has happened was a challenge,” he said.
To prepare for the role, Avinash went beyond the script and created a detailed backstory for Kuber. He wrote five to six pages describing what his character might have done between the end of Season 1 and his entry in Season 2.
“Emotionally, I created the entire backstory of what my character, Kuber, might have done and what he might not have done between the end of Season 1 and my character’s entry in Season 2. I wrote a complete backstory of five to six pages separately by myself, which was not part of the script,” he revealed.
Apart from the emotional preparation, Avinash also focused on adding small nuances to his performance. He explored ways to introduce humour through his dialogues while staying true to Kuber’s personality.
“Because the biggest challenge is to be emotionally present and, at the same time, create humour, since this is a comedy show. That is the biggest challenge,” he added.
Through his preparation, Avinash aimed to make Kuber’s entry memorable while ensuring that the audience remained engaged as the series moved towards its climax.
