As parenting continues to evolve in the 21st century, actress Bhagyashree is urging parents to take a closer look at their roles in their children’s lives. Known for her wisdom and authenticity, and her larger than life persona which is beyond her on-screen roles, she continues to inspire generations with her knowledge and experiences.
The actress recently shared her thoughts on how traditional parenting styles – especially in Indian households, may be unintentionally doing more harm than good by promoting dependence instead of resilience.
Bhagyashree On Modern Parenting
Talking about parenting, Bhagyashree said at a recent flag off event wherein she flagged off a road trip of women in their 40-50s, “Everything we as parents set up for our children, which I feel is wrong.” She further explained, “Children need to be taught to be independent, to learn through mistakes they make, to rise up when they fall, to grow through adversities and help others who cannot.”
The actress . She is setting and urging and has been the advocate of the fact that all the women of that age group especially should learn to live their lives and consolidate their own identity even at that age, Wherein people see it as an age of commencement.
She added, “We can hold their finger when they learn to walk, but we have to let go so that they can run.” She believes parenting should focus less on shielding children from the world and more on preparing them for it. “Love doesn’t come through need, just as caring is never protection enough,” she noted, underlining the importance of trust, space, and emotional strength in the parent-child relationship.
Bhagyashree’s views reflect the shift many modern parents are beginning to embrace moving away from control and toward empowerment. Her message is clear: by rethinking how we raise our children, we can equip them not just to survive, but to thrive. Parents, she suggests, should act as steady roots not cages so that their children can grow into strong, free, and capable individuals.
