After 15 years of anticipation, Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli have finally teamed up for the much-awaited film Varanasi. Mahesh Babu stars as Lord Ram, with his character named Rudhra. He shared insights into Rajamouli’s filmmaking process and his experience portraying Lord Ram. Mahesh Babu highlighted Rajamouli’s keen attention to detail, explaining that the director approaches filmmaking with a structured method.
Mahesh Babu Underwent Serious Martial Arts Training For Varanasi
In a recent interview with Screen Rant Plus, the actor said, “He (Rajamouli) has a process. There’s a method to it. For example, since I’m playing Lord Ram, it’s crucial that my posture, walk, and stance are authentic to the character.”
Mahesh Babu also revealed the intense preparation he underwent, stating, “Last year, I trained for two to three months, including taking kalari classes—a traditional martial arts form from Kerala. It’s very intense and helps your body loosen up, making it easier to adopt the right postures.”
He further shared that Rajamouli wanted to modify his running technique, leading him to train with a track and field team for six months. Despite the demanding regimen, Mahesh Babu expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s fun when you’re in that mindset; it doesn’t feel like hard work.”
